Live surgery at UROFAIR in Singapur
This time I had to travel quite far away, to Singapur, to participate in the congress UROFAIR. My role was to perform a GreenLight Enucleation procedure that was broadcasted to the congress. The Surgeries took place at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
There were other international colleagues in the congress and it was very nice to be able to share time with them. Specially Dr. James Porter, an international expert in Robotic retroperitoneal surgery who I admire for being such a good surgeon.
I was very impressed by Singapur, very modern and futuristic, the hospitality of my Singaporean colleagues was spectacular.

Two live surgeries, with Holmium and GreenLight lasers in Portugal
This time I went to Oporto to participate in a meeting with Portuguese urologists interested in the treatment of BPH (Benign prostatic hyperplasia) with lasers. This took place in the University Hospital Fernando Pessoa in Gondomar, near Porto, where I demonstrated the en bloc enucleation technique with two kinds of lasers, the GreenLight and the Holmium laser. The course was wonderfully organized by Dr. Fabio Almeida and the Hospital was excellent, with a very modern and interesting design.
I liked to see that the anatomic vaporization technique that I described in 2014 is becoming widespread and even announced in the hospital.
It was very nice to interact with the portuguese colleagues in this course. It is the first time that I demonstrate live the use of two lasers in the same congress. I think it is a very interesting format to be able to appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of both lasers in each step of the operation. At the end, the important aspect is to achieve an anatomic technique that guarantees the total removal of the adenomatous tissue.
